Beyond the Eternity

Chapter 120: The King of Catastrophe, Keikoku Amane (8)

[The Disaster of Storms has become the enemy of majority of the constellations.]

[A few constellations are willing to give you their support if It means killing that arrogant Incarnation.]

[The constellation, Primordial Mother of Dragons is laughing at the reactions of the constellations.]

A stream of messages before Soo Jinyoung's eyes. It was the angry indirect messages of the constellations watching the Fable. Most of them were just constellations with a low amount of 'status' with a few exceptions like Athena, Son Wukong and Tiamat.

Even so, those constellations were even willing to give their support to Soo Jinyoung who was not even their Incarnation.

That was how serious Keikoku Amane's words were.

"You fool... Do you even know the meaning of what you are saying?!"

Soo Jinyoung was beyond shocked. The person infront of her was insane. He was completely insane.

Despite being in a position he could be called the strongest by many including the constellations, he wanted to become even stronger than his current self and obtain absolute strength.

A Transcendent God.

If mythical constellations were watching, they would have pointed their fingers and laughed at Keikoku Amane. Among them were some of the most powerful constellations in the entire Murky Way, yet none had attained that level of absolute power—not the Twelve Gods of Olympus, the Aesir of Asgard, the Jade Emperor of the Chan Sect, and even the Demon Kings from the Demon plane

If such a level of freedom was truly obtainable, those constellations would have already been Transcendents. However, they were not.

Realistically, there was an higher chance of reaching the end of 'Fate' than becoming a Transcendent God, which by itself was also ridiculously low. Even so, Keikoku's expression still looked confident despite that extremely low odds.

"Why are you looking at me like that? You speak as though reaching that level is unattainable."

"Are you saying you know how to reach that level?"

"Obviously. If I didn't, do you think I would be saying so? In fact, It's not as hard as you think."

"What?"

[The constellations are interested by Keikoku's words.]

Soo Jinyoung struggled to make sense of his words, as if they'd hit her like a punch to the gut.

Had she lost a few brain cells when she was caught in that explosion? It really seemed like that was the case.

Soo Jinyoung narrowed her eyes suspiciously.

He knows how to become a Transcendent God? Impossible. Even if he received some divine revelation from the 'Sisters' or the 'Oracle', it would still be unthinkable. No amount of knowledge could elevate someone to the realm of infinite zeroes that is the Mind of God!

Fortunately, It seemed she didn't have to ask because Keikoku opened his mouth first upon noticing her confused expression.

"Since you look confused, I don't mind telling you what I know. It's pretty simple, actually." He begun, "There are different paths to obtain enlightenment such as Magic, Buddhism, Alchemist, Martial Arts or so forth. Whatever the case may be or method you use, you would still arrive at the same conclusion.

The human mind cannot perceive god, therefore a body that exceeds humanity must be obtained before you can arrive at God's answer. However, If you manage to obtain a godly body, your mind and soul will also ascend as well. On the other hand, If you manage to achieve a golden soul or a godly mind, then the rest will follow suit.

You can think of it as finding a short cut to a very long and troublesome computer program."

"...."

As Soo Jinyoung listened to his explanation, all movement was ceased.

What was the meaning behind his words?

As Soo Jinyoung thoroughly went through her thoughts, she grew even more suspicious and scanned Keikoku Amane from head to toe.

He didn't seem like the religious type so how did he achieve such information. Unable to hide her curiousity, Soo Jinyoung opened her mouth. "Who told you this?"

"My guiding constellation."

"Your guiding constellation?"

"That's right. She's the reason I began this journey in the first place." Despite his words, there was no hint of pride in his voice. "She said that if I destroyed other worlds, I would be able to transcend my limits. At first, I didn't believe her. But after encountering a certain someone in a particular world, I realized her words weren't entirely misguided."

Keikoku started to move around while also explaining his point of view.

"Humans may never attain a godly mind, but a godly body is within reach. Isn't that what the System does? Raising our body past Its limits through the use of coins? Perhaps that was the initial goal behind its creation. It's pretty amazing once you think about it. Hey, have you heard of something called development of conscience?"

"....."

"... Well? You don't know? When you program a robot or machine, It operates based on the instructions you provide. But what happens if you place it in an isolated environment, like an island, and instruct it to return without offering any means for it to do so?"

"....."

"By repeating the same actions thousands of times, It will eventually develop a consciousness, gaining a mind comparable to humans and even learning how to build a boat. All players follow this progression.

According to a series of calculations and stimulations done by a supercomputer, I would attain the status of Transcendent after either destroying 20,000 worlds or battling an equal opponent 128 times. If you take the potential of Antimatter into account, It completely makes sense. Unfortunately," Vis voice was filled with displeasure. "...

There aren't many who can match me in a fight, which leaves the first option as my only path. Currently, I've destoryed over 9,999 worlds already so I just need to destory 10,001 worlds before I reach the divine status. Ha ha ha! Once I achieve that status, I'll finally be free of this burden."

Keikoku Amane finished with a smile filled with malicious intent.

The dark aura he was emitting within the purgatory flames made him appear as an angel of death.

Soo Jinyoung remained unfazed. Even after hearing his explanation, she was still skeptical. Destroying 20,000 worlds and wiping out hundreds of billions of lives would certainly raise one's status—but would that truly be enough to ascend into the territory of gods?

Of course not.

Even if the chance of ascending was 0.00000000000000001%, it would still remain 0.00000000000000001% after going through a cycle of destruction. At best, he would be comparable to the Hadou Gods.

Even his claim about a robot gaining consciousness could be easily refuted. There's a far greater chance of a robot malfunctioning when given tasks beyond its programming than developing intelligence. Therefore, the chances of that happening was extremely low, but that's another story for another day.

Hold on... He said that It was his guiding constellation that told him that, right?—

While thinking so, Soo Jinyoung silently activated a skill while Keikoku Amane was distracted.

[Exclusive skill, Dragon Demon Eyes has activated.]

Fmmm! Her eyes glowed golden as Keikoku's information flowed inside her head.

His status window was ridiculous. But she ignored all of that and focused on the name of his guiding constellation.

Witch of the Night? Who the hell is that?

Soo Jinyoung frowned. She had never heard of such a constellation title despite going through nine 'regenerations'. More importantly, his guiding constellation was a witch?

Witches. They were one of the main residents of Fate— exclusively compromised of females, belonging under the category as Players. Despite that, they did not have a great reputation among the constellations.

There were many reasons for the hatred toward them, but the main one was their willingness to do whatever it took to achieve their goals—even if it meant offering their bodies to demons.

It was most likely that the person standing infront of her had been deceived by the witch, manipulated with half-truths to serve her desires. But to what end?

[There are 30 minutes before the end of the Nightmare Scenario.]

A system message appeared infront of Soo Jinyoung, causing her to click her tongue. She had to defeat the Disaster before the time limit.

"It seems there's not alot of time left before this Fable comes to an end. You did good. This has been the most fun I've had in a while."

Keikoku grinned wickedly with his eyes gleaming with anticipation.

"You made a good effort. But in the end, It's still lacking. You really made a good effort. That's why I would hit you as gently as possible, so try your best not to get flatlined, Okay?"

Keikoku shifted his center of gravity amidst the flames.

With the sound of a sonic boom, he shot like towards Soo Jinyoung at incredible speed, blowing away the ground along with the flames as he went.

There were a few dozen metres between them, but he brought that distance to zero in an instant. It was the raw power of strength [Lv. 100]. A level beyond humanity.

He stretched out his hand and swung It. Within that left hand was not only certain death, but a check for billion won. There was no need to use Antimatter when he could crush his opponent with overwhelming strength.

"....!"

Soo Jinyoung immediately reacted by shifting her body and activating Demon Dragon Eyes. At the same time, the fist flew towards her face.

Swish! The one billion won fist forcefully brushed her like a cannon shot. Keikoku's eyes widened in surprise.

"What? You were able to dodge that? How high are your stats anyways?"

"....."

Soo Jinyoung didn't answer and continued to dodge his assault of punches. She jumped here and there using a serpentine like movement to create distance while Keikoku couldn't even graze her skin. Keikoku swung his left hand again and again as he entered her space.

However...

"What the hell? How are you moving so fast?! Stay still damnit, you good for nothing punching bag!"

... None of his attacks landed.

Despite the overwhelming gap in power, Soo Jinyoung managed to evade his strikes by swiftly side-stepping just before they landed. Her movements weren't effortless though. She sued on the Dragon Demon Eyes to predict and react to each of his attack in advance.

One hit would be catastrophic. That's why she couldn't afford a single mistake.

Keikoku's ability was so powerful to the point he could completely erase his enemy from existance with a simple touch. And he could create wings that could serve as Lethal weapons of destruction. Therefore, there was no loss on his part. All his battles were just a one-sided massacre. He was even worshipped as a local god by the people in another planet.

If she kept taking damage while constantly repairing her body and internal organs, the mounting mental strain would overwhelm her and eventually push her to the brink of death.

If her opponent was a seasoned Warrior, she would have been defeated while she was on her last leg.

Keikoku Amane was different. Ironically, it was that very overwhelming power that made him weak.

He never learnt how to truly fight. His stance was sloppy and he fought with only one hand. He didn't even pay attention to his footing or centre of gravity. Because of the blessing of the system, he didn't need to worry about those trival things.

If you could kill any enemy in a single strike, there was no reason to learn techniques.

Techniques, and effort were things that weak people used to supplement their weak prowess.

But that was not Keikoku's strength. He was not a martial artist, he was not a cultivator, he was not a swordsman or even a magician.

Even through he had the fist of a billion won, It would be completely useless if It could not hit the target.

Even if he was ridiculously faster than his opponent, his attacks were still easily avoided as long as they could be predicted. It was like giving a child a knife and expecting them to wield it with the precision of a sword master.

In addition, he fought with one hand since the other one was unusable, making his attack pattern even more easier to read.

There was one reason why someone like that had managed to survive for this long.

He was just an extremely luckly bastard that was blessed with an overpowered ability from the <System>

Tap! Tap! Tap!

Soo Jinyoung continued to predict and dodge his attacks while looking for weak points in her opponent's defence. Once she dodged an attack, she would create distance and Keikoku would catch after her but failed to catch her. It was a child being teased by an adult.

Is that....

Soo Jinyoung finally found a weak spot in Keikoku's defence and immediately acted at once. Instead of running away, she closed the distance them and swung her sword at his blind spot.

The result...

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGG!!"

A 'swoooch' noise was heard.

What erupted afterwards was a pained scream that echoed throughout the silent Gangdong-gu.

The strongest disaster known as the Disaster of Storms, Keikoku Amane felt the sensation of a cold blade cutting through his skin for the first time.

1.) Hadou Gods is Another name for Mythical Constellations.

2.) Keikoku's words about The human mind cannot perceive god, therefore a body that exceeds humanity must be obtained before you can arrive at God's answer is connected to 'Kabbalah' which has the concept of the Sephirot tree, a diagram with 10 levels that are divided up the positions of humans, angels, and god. And on that Sephirot tree, the crucial position of god was nowhere to be found.
