Chapter 112: Nightmare Scenario [5]
When we reached the Lotte World Tower, the surroundings had already turned into a monster colony.
Park Joonhyuk, who had gone out to scout the surroundings, came back and explained the situation.
"I don't know how do I say this, but the situation is not good."
"You think we don't know that? Is that person at the tower?"
"The Disaster of Ruin is indeed at the Lotte World Tower. However, reaching him would mean we have to face a massive horde of monsters, and it seems that bastard can mutate weaker creatures using his own blood."
I was not surprised. It was something I already expected to hear. After all, It was because of that person that the mutation was able to spread so quickly.
"I expected this much. Can you create clones to distract the monsters?"
"I can. But that will consume much of my magic power. Besides, there is a possibility that even if I create clones, that bastard will control the monsters to attack us."
"Well, that's a problem. Maybe we can..."
"I'll do it."
Angelica interrupted me before I could speak. "I'll deal with the monsters while you two handle that person."
"Are you sure? It's risky, you know."
"Don't worry about me. If it's too much for me, I will just use the talisman and escape. Just do what you have to do."
Indeed, she was not the same Angelica I knew from the Literature Club. Now, she can pull her own weight without my help.
I looked down at the disaster known as Antimatter. He was pouring his blood Into the mouth of a torn monster and said monster mutated in an instant just like in a horror film.
It would be good if we were able to take him out with a single blow. But that wasn't possible since I didn't have the Sky Wind.
Even so, It didn't mean we will turn back now.
Swish!
Angelica jumped off the building first without hesitation.
While she was descending, the space behind her distorted and numerous swords were unleashed which flew downwards with air-parting speed.
It was an annihilation attack that flew from all directions and the monsters were quickly overwhelmed.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Park Joonhyuk rubbed his eyes in disbelief, as though he couldn't trust what he was seeing.
If he had been with us in the library dungeon, would he have reacted the same way?
He clicked his tongue.
"This woman is insane. Isn't this like a lion disguised in sheep's clothing?"
"Why are you so surprised? Not everyone will be completely helpless in this world. By the way, do you remember the plan?"
"Yes, we've already gone over it a million times. We strike fast and take him out in one shot before he can kill anyone and grow stronger. It's a hit and run operation."
"Good. Let's get started."
I wore the headpiece of the Def. Antimatter suit and pushed a button at the side of the full-face helmet. In the next moment, I heard the female voice of the the system's artificial intelligence.
[Initiating system booting.... 1, 2, 3... 98 percent...]
As the countdown progressed, a low hum resonated through the suit and sent a slight vibration across my body. The visor HUD flickered momentarily and displayed a series of diagnostic checks that flashed in rapid succession: power levels, armor integrity, and system connectivity all surged to optimal levels.
[Booting complete. Recognising user...]
With the final beep, a crisp tone signaled the end of the initialization sequence. A holographic interface materialized before me and casted a soft blue glow that illuminated the surroundings. The interface began to display a series of complex readings, showcasing real-time defense levels, energy reserves, lines of code and status bars.
[User recognized. Systems online and operational. Ready for combat protocols. Current defense level: 100%. Energy reserves: 100%.]
Additional tabs opened, revealing a comprehensive manual that detailed the various weapons and tools at my disposal like the energy sword and blasters accompanied by tactical data that outlined firing modes, recharge times, and suggested combat strategies.
The suit vibrated gently as it establishes a neural link that heightened my senses and synced my thoughts with the suit's advanced targeting systems.
I took a deep breath. What could I say? The designer of this protective suit really put all their hardwork into this suit.
Originally, the suit was supposed to serve as a Bank database but It was remodeled due to certain reasons (world's corruption) and made into a protective suit. I should make sure to put it to good use.
I enchanged a quick gaze with Park Joonhyuk who had done the same and nodded my head.
Wordlessly, we descended top of the building and evaded the monsters.
With Angelica's aid, we were able to move towards the base of the tower while avoiding the monsters who had gone towards her direction.
We reached the Disaster of Ruin who emitted an aura that seemed to say 'I am the Disaster' and immediately commenced the Antimatter attack operation.
Joonhyuk's clones materialized in a flash and surrounded the Disaster from all angles. The clones surged forward and cut down the monsters surrounding the King of Nightmares as we closed in.
With a single movement, we unleashed the full power of the suit's energy blade and aimed for his neck while he was distracted by the clones.
It was a perfectly executed plan with low chances of failure.
Without a doubt, this person was far more of a threat than the death warden. If we couldn't kill this disaster, Seoul would surely be destroyed.
As the combined assault closed in our target, I had this feeling that something was wrong.
That's right. Something was definitely wrong. Why was it too easy?
It was then...
"...!"
The cold and merciless eyes of a destroyer stared at me and I sensed a terrible killing intent emerge from his body.
Time seemed to slow. His lips twisted into a devious grin.
"You finally showed yourselves, you fucking rats."
"...!"
Before I could even blink, the person infront of me disappeared in a flash like a ghost.
I barely managed to evade the attack aimed for my back, but Park Joonhyuk wasn't as lucky and was thrown backwards by the powerful blow.
"Damnit."
"C'mon. You didn't really think you could take me out with that attack, did you? I'm honestly impressed that you managed to come up with such a lousy strategy, but I guess that can't be helped."
The disaster known as Keikoku Amane nonchalantly walked towards me. Even so, the very space around him seemed to be parting way.
I narrowed my eyes.
It didn't make any sense. Surely, he couldn't have gotten stronger while he was restricted by the story.
[Exclusive skill, Omniscient Wall has activated.]

Impossible. How was he able to regain his strength while being restricted by the story?
....Ah, was that it?
I clicked my tongue. Of course, he couldn't kill while he was under the restriction. But what the monsters under his control?
There were probably still survivors around this area. If this bastard sends his army of monsters throughout the district, wouldn't he able to lift his seals without lifting a finger?
According to the laws of Song of Nightmares, when a tamed creature kills someone or something, the EXP is transferred to the tamer. It functions much like the Summoner or Tamer class in an RPG. But this bastard possessed both the Magician and Summoner build. It was completely unfair.
I became nervous when Keikoku Amane dragged his hand back. At the same time, the space around his fist began to distort violently.
[The character 'Keikoku Amane' has unleashed the <Antimatter Cannon>]
"Shit!"
The disaster smiled as he unleashed the power of destruction and I immediately braced for impact. The surroundings was slowly being erased and my entire body was aching.
The pain was agonizing. It felt like my insides were being ripped apart, atom by atom. Fortunately, I was wearing the Def. Antimatter suit.
[Dangerous waves of Antimatter has been detected.]
[Initiating Antimatter convertion process...]
[The Antimatter energy is being converted into harmless energy....]
[Warning! Warning! Detected antimatter energy has exceeded the Suit's absorption limit!]
[The Defense level of the Suit has dropped to 95 percent... 90 percent... 85 percent... 80 percent...]
The attack of pure destruction finally turned off when the suit defence percentage dropped to 75 percent.
Anti-Matter Cannon. It was a destructive power that had thoroughly erased countless worlds without leaving a trace of dust behind. To be honest, I was lucky the disaster wasn't at full power.
"What? How could this be? Is this some kind of joke? Wait a minute... That suit... I recognise the design of that bloody suit."
Keikoku Amane's arrogant expression shattered in an instant. It wasn't my survival of his devastating attack that enraged him—it was the sight of the suit I was wearing.
As I thought, he was obviously going to recognise this suit. It was practically impossible for him to forget.
He approached me while releasing a frightening amount of black power. It was an overwhelming presence similar to the regressor. He asked with a low voice, almost like a growl. "You... Where did you get that suit from?"
"Where would I tell you that?"
"That suit... it's one of hers, isn't it? That damned scientist thinks she can stand in my way. Again."
"Dude, who are you talking about? It almost sounds as if that person is your ex-girlfriend or something?"
"You..."
Knowing his history with that scientist, I decided to push his buttons but that only intensified swirling aura around him. But that was not the only purpose behind saying those words.
"Huh? What?"
Before Keikoku Amane could react, something slammed into his body and electrocuted him.
"Aaaaaack!"
The attacker was Park Joonhyuk who had regained consciousness and fired an energy blast from his own suit.
"Do it! Attack him now!"
Park Joonhyuk gave the signal and I explosively ran towards the disaster with the energy sword while he followed behind. It was a combined assault that slowly overwhelmed the Keikoku Amane.
"Tch! You bastards...!"
Keikoku Amane cursed as he blocked my energy sword with the metallic claw and repelled me backwards.
He was dodging Park Joonhyuk's attacks and created distance. Damnit. Was he trying to use that Antimatter Cannon again?
"Park Joonhyuk! Don't give this bastard space!"
The situation will take a terrible turn if he used that skill again.
[Physique Lv 40 -> Physique Lv. 60]

[Exclusive skill, Sprint has activated.]
Thud!
The heavy thud of my feet shattered the asphalt beneath me as I propelled forward with tremendous force. Simultaneously, Park Joonhyuk created multiple clones and all charged at Keikoku Amane in unison. In no time, the disaster was surrounded in all directions.
As our attacks landed one by one, Keikoku Amane screamed as his skin was torn by the energy sword.
Blood was drawn and there was no opportunity for the Disaster to regain his bearing.
When we were finally beginning to gain momentum.
"You guys are seriously beginning to piss me off. Go to Hell, you fucking jerks!"
[The character, Keikoku Amane has activated <Antimatter>]
Keikoku Amane slammed his foot into the asphalt as he became upset.
A dark wave of destruction surged outward, and obliterated everything within a twenty-meter radius. Unfortunately, we were caught within the blast and thrown backwards into a pile of rumble.
[Warning! The suit has taken dangerous levels of damage!]
[Initiating self-repair protocols....]
[Errors! Error! Self-repair protocols has failed! System defense levels has dropped to 65 percent!]
[Initiating system backup protocols...]
The words displayed on the visor was not good news at all. I pulled myself out from the mountain of rumble, and my body staggered here and there.
My head was spinning and the suit's system notification was constantly ringing out. Park Joonhyuk pulled himself out from a broken wall.
My vision slowly regained focus and I noticed something was wrong.
... Wait, where is that guy?
I quickly swept my gaze around the vicinity but the disaster known as Keikoku Amane was no where to be seen.
The disaster was missing. To be specific, he had escaped while we were down.
