Chapter 71 Acting Cute is Cheating
"emmm... If I remember correctly, it\'s called Red Bean."
"Director, where is Red Bean?"
"Could Red Bean be sick?" an audience member immediately expressed concern.
Fang Ye glanced at the exhibit, laughing, "Red Bean is here too, but you just haven\'t found him. Look again more carefully?"
"Huh?"
Upon hearing this, the audience immediately widened their eyes and started searching every corner carefully.
Suddenly, someone excitedly exclaimed, "I see it!"
"Oh, so it\'s there (pretending to have seen it)"
"Well, would you tell us where it is?"
"Up in the tree, on the branch of the tree on the right!"
The audience followed the guidance of this comment and began to observe the tree on the right closely, and indeed, behind the dense leaves of the triangular branch, a dark shadow could just be discerned.
Although it was well hidden, a bushy tail was fidgeting restlessly beneath the green leaves, betraying its presence.
Lan Li zoomed in the camera and there was Red Bean, hiding there, peering through the leaves at the visitors carefully. The white cheeks and eyebrows could be seen through the gaps in the leaves.
Perhaps finding the view insufficient, Red Bean stretched out a paw and quietly pushed the leaves aside, allowing the audience a clear view. Its little mouth slightly open, tongue sticking out, it looked both clueless and cute.
The little round face against a backdrop of green leaves looked like a red panda fruit had grown on the tree.
"Your little cutie suddenly appears.jpg"
"It can even stick out its tongue, too cute~"
"Wuu wuu wuu, I really want to hug and kiss it."
"Red pandas are treasures from heaven! I love them so much!"
"Red Bean and Chestnut have different personalities, don\'t they? Chestnut can bask in the sun right under the eyes of visitors, while Red Bean is more shy and timid, hiding in places out of sight."
"Hahahaha, this is a real game of hide and seek!"
"Hey, Red Bean is moving! Is it planning to come down from the tree?"
Indeed, Red Bean turned its head, and although the branch it stood on was not wide, its grip was surprisingly stable. No matter how much the branch swayed or how its paws moved, they remained firmly planted.
However, it seemed to have forgotten how it climbed up in the first place!
Reaching out with one paw to touch a twig as thick as a finger, the other paw followed suit pressing down, the slender twig immediately bent downward under the weight, forming a large arc.
Ouch!
The audience gasped, and Red Bean was also stunned for a moment, realizing this twig might not hold its weight. It pulled back its paws, sat down crouching, lifted its upper body, and began to survey the environment amongst the branches.
Seconds later, it seemed to have found a solution. It turned around, took two small steps back, then with a little hop, it jumped onto a thicker branch 30cm away. It then walked out of the dense leafy area and reached the main fork in the trunk.
With no leaves in the way, now everyone could see clearly without needing to zoom in.
Red Bean\'s hind legs were on the branch, its body pressing closely against the trunk. It stretched out its dark left limb toward the branch on the right, but it was too short to reach.
So, taking small steps on the branch below, it slowly turned around to try and reach the branch to its lower left.
As it turned, its chubby butt faced the camera, its red and white ringed bushy tail perked up, and its cute, delicate face peeked out from beneath the branch, looking upside down at the visitors and forming a big "C" shape.
There was a protruding bud below the branch, right in front of Red Bean, who naturally became curious and gently bit it with her little tiger teeth to taste it, smacking her lips, sticking out her tongue, without showing whether she found the taste good or bad.
"⊙∀⊙! ⊙∀⊙!"
"Those short legs are so cute! Sticking out the tongue is cute, too!"
"Kawaii! So kawaii!"
"This level of cuteness is just cheating!"
Red Bean eyed the branch below. With her hind legs and one front paw securing the branch she was on, she stretched her right paw down, couldn\'t reach, switched to her left paw, still couldn\'t reach! Her fluffy long tail swayed back and forth with each attempt.
Her little legs were too short; even with stretching, she was still 20 cm short from the branch below.
"Hahaha, silly Red Bean, can\'t get down the tree."
"Ah, this is making me anxious to watch!"
"Wuwuwu, I feel so bad for her, hurry up and carry her down!"
Fang Ye laughed and said, "You guys are worrying over nothing. As arboreal animals, climbing trees for red pandas is as natural as breathing, an ability etched in their genes. Does anyone worry that they might suddenly forget how to breathe one day?"
Sure enough, Red Bean suddenly loosened her grip on the tree, her front paws naturally found the branch below, and her body lightly bounced. Then, head downward, her two hind legs wrapped around the trunk of the tree, climbing down smoothly and steadily bit by bit.
When nearing the bottom, she slid to the ground with a swish, so fast!
Just after landing, still with her mouth open, she looked around nervously. Once she assured herself that everything was safe, she relaxed, trotted off with her little short legs, and bounced towards the resting perch.
It looked like she wanted to bask in the sun, too!
While she could sunbathe in the tree too, the spot where one sunbathes matters. The wide horizontal beams on the perch allowed her to sprawl comfortably and fully soak up the sun, making it an excellent spot.
Of course, the weather today was good, and the temperature was not too high. If the sun were too blisteringly hot, then a shady spot under the leaves or a flat and cool big rock under the cave\'s canopy would be better choices.
The perches weren\'t limited to one; they were distributed throughout the exhibit area, consisting of many round logs. Some were horizontal, forming bridges at various heights, while others were slanted against trees. Red Bean didn\'t go to the perch where Chestnut was lying; she chose another perch further back.
Parrots are gregarious animals that like to be amid bustle, whereas red pandas are solitary in the wild, rarely interacting with other adults outside of the breeding season. Even in groups, it would be a small troop of a female red panda with several cubs.
The relationship between Chestnut and Red Bean was neither good nor bad; there was no bullying between them, nor were they close enough to sunbathe together intimately.
A netizen asked curiously, "Director, why do red pandas love sunbathing so much?"
Suddenly, everyone started to discuss it in a buzz.
"Red pandas are cats too, isn\'t it normal for them to enjoy the sun?"
"Right, my cat just lies on the balcony sunbathing whenever it\'s free, sunbathing until the sun sets. In winter, it even likes to bake by the heater. Last time it almost singed its fur."
"Actually, it\'s not basking in the sun. It\'s transmitting the Earth\'s information back to its home planet through electromagnetic waves reflected by its fur. See its two ears? Those are signal amplifiers~ Soon the Earth will be occupied by an army of red pandas."
"Isn\'t that beautiful?"
"I like sunbathing too, it\'s so comfortable."
"Dogs like sunbathing as well."
"???? Somehow I feel like you\'re insulting me."
"Hahahaha, I can\'t stop laughing, the netizens are so talented."
